I’m An Engineer Get Me Out of Here!

Year 5 took part in a series of lessons around I’m an Engineer Get Me out of Here! (MT also were lucky to take part as there was an extra open Q&A at the same time as their computing session.)

I’m an Engineer

This is an online event where school students meet and interact with engineers. It’s an X Factor-style competition between engineers, where the students are the judges.

Students challenge the engineers over fast-paced online live CHATs. They ASK the engineers anything they want, and VOTE for their favourite engineer to win a prize of £500 to communicate their work with the public.

It linked to their topic of the Industrial Revolution and the work of engineers now. We were given the health zone and you can read more here: http://healthj16.imanengineer.org.uk/

Planting new trees!

Today, Miss Tomalin’s class planted 53 new trees in our outdoor learning area.
First we moved our new seating logs down to our outdoor classroom, while the rest of the group prepared the ground ready to plant. Then we all got a chance to plant several trees! By the time we were finished, the area looked great and we all really enjoyed our time gardening!
